Hey guys, I hope everyone has had a good summer and that things are going well!
I will admit that art has been rather slow for me lately. I graduated from college in May, had a death in the family and have been going through a rather pathetic existential crisis of sorts. It's all bullshit excuses I know, but it's taking me a bit longer than I would like to get stuff done.
I have been working on a few things though-- including a diptych [link]
, cd covers [link]
, some paintings and a project for a company that I can't really talk about at the moment due to confidentiality, so hopefully I will be able to share these with you fine folks soon.
However, since I haven't been focusing much of my attention on art lately, a lot of my energy has gone towards reading books on history and art surveys. Reading varied accounts of art interpretation has kind of got me thinking. Most of you only know me from my artwork as I am kinda shy/awkward/dork on the net, so I'm a bit interested-- what does my artwork tell you about myself or my personality? What do you like about my work, or hate about it? What would you be interested in seeing more of?
I'm really interested in hearing what you guys have to say! I stare at these things every day and most critique I get is based on execution rather than concept, so getting fresh insight from people who don't know me would be rather insightful, imo.
Also, I ordered a bunch of new art books for inspiration lately... among them being this beauty [link]
. I highly recommend that you check his work out, as he does everything I want to do in my art only better. xD
